 New in the shop is Weaving in the Peruvian Highlands: Dreaming Patterns, Weaving Memories, by Nilda Callanaupa Alvarez.

Topics covered include:

distinctive styles of traditional clothing;

basics of how fabric is created, from
spinning to dyeing to weaving;

names and meaning of the myriad textile
designs that reflect the culture and history of the people.

The author is founder and director of the
Center for Traditional Textiles of Cusco.

 

 

 

We also carry portable looms from Ashford - the Knitter's Loom.

It comes in two widths - 12" and 20"

Easy to warp - with your knitter's stash. From yarn to scarf in about 2 hours.

The loom comes with an instruction booklet, reed (7.5 dpi),
two shuttles, two threading hooks, two clamps and a warping peg.

 

 

This loom folds up with your weaving in place (folded dimensions are 17" by 15" by 3.5").

 

 

In the folded position, the loom fits into a convenient carrying case.
