Spinning at Sheep Street Fibers

Sheep Street Fibers carries spinning wheels, rovings, and a variety of tools that spinners need.

We have spinning wheels from Ashford, Schacht, Schacht/Reeves, and Louet.
We have rovings and fleeces from our sheep, other Indiana breeders,
and other commercial sources.
We have a variety of all those other "miscellaneous" tools that spinners need, including:
niddy-noddies and mini niddy-noddies, orifice hooks, drop spindles, tensioned lazy kates,
hand and drum carders, and repair parts for wheels.
We have a repair service for antique spinning wheels.

We keep most models of the spinning
wheels on the floor at all times for
you to come in and try out. So feel
free to spin on all of them to see
which would be the best for you.

In addition, we carry Spindles from Ashford, and Schact.

We are now a dealer for Strauch Fiber Equipment. We carry
their drum carders, hand cards, swifts, jumbo ball-winders, etc.

Finest (chain drive)
The Finest is 24" long, 12" wide
with a 6" high frame. It can
produce an 8" by 22" batt.

Standard (chain drive)
The Standard is 24" long, 12" wide with a 4" high frame. It can
produce an 8" by 22" batt.

Petite (belt drive)
The Petite is 16" long, 10" wide with a 7" high frame . It can produce a 6.5" by 22" batt.

The Finest and Standard models are also available in a "doublewide" version. They
produce a batt that is 14" wide and 22" long. Motorized versions are also available.

We also carry the Strauch swifts.

The floor model shown doubles as a skein winder. It is 42" tall.

The table model that
is also available is 27" tall.

These swifts are available in Birch, Cherry and Walnut.
The Strauch jumbo ballwinder will wind
a ball 6" in diameter
that weighs one pound.

The jumbo ball winder is
15" long, 5" wide and 9.5"
high. The red strip clamps
it to a table or bench.

From a variety of sources, we have
a supply of Hand Carders and Combs for processing fleeces.

We also sell Flick Carders.

the right is from Ashford.
